Dear Visitor,
Welcome to Villa Maria. I am proud to have been part of this school since its founding 35 years ago. It was a time when millions of children and parents were struggling alone with learning disabilities. The needs of children with learning disabilities were not recognized by schools, and such students were often misunderstood or ignored.
Today, because of our efforts and those of others, such disabilities are recognized, and assistance is given to children who learn differently.
Villa Maria is an independent, co-educational day school in which bright children are surrounded by teachers and friends, supporting and encouraging them. Our certified special education teachers are passionate about teaching and experienced in strategies to help students learn.
Our focus is on language-based difficulties, but we offer a comprehensive curriculum for our students. In addition to reading, language, writing, and math, students are exposed to science, social studies, art, music and physical education, as well as extracurricular activities to further develop social skills.
Children who previously experienced failure come joyfully through our doors each morning, happy to be with their teachers and ready to enjoy success.
