Tutors
The tutors at Villa Maria assist the teacher in providing opportunities for individual attention and instruction.
The tutor fulfills specific tasks assigned by the teacher, e.g., drilling with flash cards in reading and/or math, listening to oral reading or book reports, reviewing spelling words and vocabulary, supervising a test, etc. The tutor may provide reinforcement to individual students while the class teacher works with the rest of the class.
Because the tutors/substitute teachers participate in all school activities, and assist in the classrooms on a daily basis, they are knowledgeable about the program, curriculum, and schedules, and students are able to have continuity in their classes.
