Sinan Biro 1992-1995
Sinan wrote: “Looking back, I can see how much Villa Maria has been a positive influence on me, and along with my parents really pointed me in the right direction. I went to Columbia University where I majored in Biomedical Engineering. I joined ROTC and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Army National Guard. A few years later I transferred to the Air National Guard as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Officer. At the same time I also worked full time as a manager of an imaging lab at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York City. While I do that, I was finishing my Masters from Columbia. I am currently working in clinical sales with Philips Healthcare which I started in 2014. I've accomplished so much since Villa Maria and I really believe that if it had not been for that experience I would not be where I am today.”
Alyssa Rosenberg 1994-2001
Alyssa wrote: “A lot has happened in the last 14 years of my life, I graduated college, and I am engaged to be married in May of next year. I owe the majority of my college career success to you and to Villa. I walked away from Manhattanville College with a BA in psychology and a focus in child development. My fiancé, Adam also works with special needs children and adults and together we are in the early stages of opening a center for special needs children and young adults that have aged out of the system. Thank you again for what you did for me and numerous other children. I hope that I can help as many children as you have.”
