Matching Gifts
Matching gifts from corporations and foundations are an important source of Annual Giving revenue. Such gifts are an excellent opportunity for donors to increase, double or even triple the amount of their contribution. Guidelines for matching gifts vary by company. Check with your company’s Human Resources/Personnel department to determine eligibility and the steps in the process.
Life Income Gifts
A life income gift will allow you and/or your beneficiary to retain income from assets donated, as well as take a federal income tax deduction for a portion of the value (depending on the terms of the gift), while also eliminating the capital gains tax on gifts of appreciated securities or real estate. Charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and other life income gifts must be arranged between you, the school and your legal and financial advisors to ensure an arrangement that is tailored to your financial circumstances.
Gifts of Tangible Property/Gifts in Kind
This gift can take many forms, and, in most cases, it provides a deduction equal to the fair market value of the property. If the donation is accepted and used by Villa Maria in the educational process, you are entitled to a deduction equal to the full fair market value. However if the donation is not used in our educational programs, your charitable deduction will be limited to your cost basis in the property.
VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
Your Gift of Time is a valuable asset.
Gifts of volunteer time provide invaluable support for Villa Maria, give you a better understanding of the school, and provide an opportunity to get to know others involved with the school. There are many ways to be involved. Parents have sewn costumes for the annual play, led Girl Scout Troops and other afterschool activities, donated baked goods and treats for school parties, helped with marketing, spearheaded fundraising efforts. Contribute your unique talents and skills. Become an active member of our Parent Teacher Association. Join the Education, Finance or Development Committees of the Villa Maria Board. Support the Annual Gala. All are welcome.
