Career Day - Sinan Biro and Keith Brewer

Two of our former students stopped by for Career Day on May 19, 2017.

Keith Brewer attended Villa Maria from 1990 through 1994. After Villa, he attended Turn of River Middle School and then Hofstra University where he earned a BA in Sociology/English. At present he is a global digital director involved in advertising and bringing a product or service to the attention of customers. Keith explained that this is technically done through mass media, and shared various examples of ads in his PowerPoint.

David Ottaviano 1979-1983

David came to Villa for third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade, before moving on to St. Gabriel’s Middle School. He attended Windward High School in White Plains, and Antioch College, where he earned a BA in History in 1996. David received an MA in Sociology in 2007 from The New School for Social Research.

Reed Scott 1977-1980

Reed’s family moved from Pittsburgh in 1977, and he attended Villa for grade three, four and five. He then transferred to West School in New Canaan. Reed recently visited with his daughter, Samantha.

Catherine Doering 2000-2003

Kat attended Villa Maria School in grades 3 through 5, and then transferred to Scofield Magnet Middle School. She graduated from Curry College with her BA in Psychology, and then worked for about a year at the Boys and Girls Club of America.

She moved to Ireland, and currently lives in Limerick, where she works as a caregiver and art tutor. Kat is hoping to eventually obtain her Masters in Psychology.

Steve Mansfield 1978-1983

Steve attended Villa Maria in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Following his years at Villa, he transferred to Holy Spirit School in Stamford for 8th grade.

He then attended Trinity Catholic High School, University of Bridgeport, The Drummers Collective in NYC, and New York University. He has a BM in Jazz Performance and a minor in Music Business. Steve is married and lives with his wife in White Plains, New York. He is a self-employed drummer/percussionist and music educator.

Maximilian (Max) Burke 2008 – 2011

Max attended Villa Maria in Grades 3, 4, and 5. Following his three years here, his family moved to Monterey, California.
